Depart for San Francisco
Today you board your flight to San Francisco, one of the top tourist destinations in the world and renowned for its chilly summer fog and steep rolling hills. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Depending on the time of the flight you may have some free time on arrival to explore the city. This evening enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants that San Francisco is famous for. Overnight in San Francisco.

San Francisco
San Francisco is the financial, cultural, and transportation centre of the San Francisco Bay Area, a region of 7.15 million people which includes San Jose and Oakland and is the second most densely populated area in USA. Your sightseeing tour will include the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Nob Hill and the Old Spanish Mission Dolores. This afternoon, you take a fascinating harbour cruise sailing past the famous Alcatraz Prison. Later after dinner return to your hotel. Overnight in San Francisco.

San Francisco - Wine Country - Sacramento – Sonora
After breakfast you travel northwards into the wine–growing region of Sonoma and continue on to Sacramento, capital of California. After a short lunch stop you follow the 49 Gold Rush Trail to the historic gold camp of Sonora for our overnight stay. (Please note that there are not many hotels in Sonora so you may have to stay around this area depending on availability of hotels). This evening, enjoy a continental dinner. Overnight in Sonora or surrounding areas.

Sonora - Yosemite National Park - Mammoth Lakes
The Yosemite National Park is one of the first wilderness parks in the United States. It is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more. Today you have a drive to Yosemite National Park and enjoy a view of giant granite domes, pinnacles, mountains, waterfalls and lush forests and the Merced River. After some time and lunch at the Park you cross the high Tioga Pass and stay overnight in Mammoth Lakes. Mammoth Lakes resides on the edge of the Long Valley Caldera. The area around the town is geologically active with hot springs that are less than 1000 years old. Overnight in or around Mammoth Lakes.

Mammoth Lakes - Death Valley
After breakfast, we depart for Death Valley. Extreme heat and dryness create extreme landscapes in Death Valley National Park. This below-sea-level basin is perhaps best known as the hottest place in the U.S., but the park also contains vast salt flats, high sand dunes, deep canyons, and towering peaks that catch snow in the winter. At 13,650 sq km (5,270 sq mi), Death Valley is the largest national park in the continental U.S., and its elevation of 86 m (282 ft) below sea level makes the park's Bad water Basin the second lowest point in the Western Hemisphere. As we go through the park we will see very varied terrains visiting Mosaic Canyon – famous for its polished walls of Marble, Devils Cornfield, Furnace Creek Visitors Centre, Zabriskie point and Colden Canyon. Overnight in or around Death Valley.

Death Valley - Las Vegas
After breakfast you drive through the snow–capped Sierra Nevadas into the 'Silver State' and cross the wonderful exciting desert landscape to the famous 'Sin City' of Las Vegas. On arrival check in. In the evening enjoy a stroll on the Strip and a visit to some of the famous hotels on the Strip. Overnight in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas
Today you can relax by the pool or walk around the famous Las Vegas 'Strip' with its casinos, shopping plazas and other attractions. Visit the various hotels to have a look at the free shows and amazing interiors. This evening why not enjoy a Vegas Show (optional). Please note that if you do want to see a show it will have to be booked in advance and is payable to us in advance. Overnight in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas - Grand Canyon - Las Vegas
Early morning you drive to Boulder City and cross over the Hoover Dam. After a short stop at the dam for photographs you continue to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. Here you can enjoy a visit to one of the Indian camps and also have time to go on the Sky walk (optional). The Sky walk is 4,000 feet above the natural wonder of the Grand Canyon. You look down through 2.5 inches of crystal–clear glass to the Canyon floor below and stand on the edge of an engineering marvel that extends 70 feet over the Grand Canyon’s rim and weighs 1.2 million pounds. Enjoy an optional helicopter ride (this must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment). Overnight in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas - Los Angeles
Today you drive from Nevada to California. Our first stop will be at the famous factory outlet just 20 minutes out of Las Vegas at the Nevada border line. Continue on to Los Angeles. On arrival have a city tour. Los Angeles, a world centre of business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, technology and education. Enjoy a tour of Hollywood, Sunset Strip, Mann's Chinese Theatre, the famous Kodak Theatre and the walk of stars. You then drive on to Beverly Hills for a short tour of the beautiful homes of the rich and famous. Drive along the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Overnight in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles - Universal Studios
Universal studios founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle is one of the oldest American movie studios and is still in continuous production. This morning you visit the famous studios in Los Angeles Hollywood to enjoy many of the rides and entertainment that are on offer. Your ticket includes free entry to most of these. Your tour manager will advise you on what are the most suitable and interesting for the group. Later enjoy some free time for shopping. Return to your hotel after dinner. Overnight in Los Angeles.

This morning, depending on your flight time, you may have some free time before transfer to Los Angeles airport for either:
